Just because it’s a weird Christmas doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful and fabulous and wonderful. Oddly, this year has given me some badly needed perspective, and I’m looking more forward to buying gifts more than I have in a long time. So here’s our 2020 list of carefully-curated gems. These run the gamut of budget friendly to a little indulgent, but I’ve avoided sheer extravagance (brand new Airstreams and Disney annual passes, for example).

Bears Roasting Marshmallow Night Light RV Decor
Oh, I can barely stand the cuteness. It’s all about the details in RV decor, and this one transports me to one of my favorite cabins at Fort Wilderness. [Affiliate link.]
Bike Wheel LED Lights – Pattern Changing
Sometimes, it’s the simplest gifts that are the brightest. Nothing makes me think of childhood camping more than those plastic colorful things we put on our spokes – long before LED. This LED set allows you to change patterns, and looks even cooler than the ones we had on our 2019 list. [Affiliate link.]
Orange Bird License Plate
I’m really, really hoping this shows up on the front side of my RV later this year. Because that little retro orange bird may just be the happiest face on earth. [Affiliate link.]
Two-Piece Retro Red & Black Polka-Dot Bikini
There’s nothing not to love about this one. It has enough coverage to be campground appropriate, but still shows off our hiking/biking-toned mama bods with an obvious nod to Minnie Mouse. [Affiliate link]
Kissimmee-Orlando RV Rental Gift Certificate
Maybe my favorite item on the entire list as I love “experience” gifts. As soon as I get home from Fort Wilderness, I’m already planning my next trip. Back in July, we rented an RV instead of hauling our own, and I can’t wait to do it again in 2021. Contact the company through their website for more information on gift certificates [Link.]
Trekking the National Parks: The Award-Winning Family Board Game (2nd Edition)
I haven’t played this yet, but have ordered it for one of the kids. We love the Ticket to Ride games, and this one works in a similar way, but with the national parks theme. [Affiliate link.]
Men’s Chip and Dale Fun in the Forest Lounge Pants/Pajamas
One of the best parts of glamping is getting to wear your pajama pants outside (and even to the trading post). Toss those old baggy black ones and replace them these sexy Chip and Dale ones. [Affiliate link.]
Little Blue House BoxerUnderwear “May the Forest Be With You”
This company has a very hipster collection of outdoor-themed underwear, and these aren’t low-rent gag gifts. The underwear is high-quality, durable, and worthy of making a new pair a holiday tradition. [Affiliate link.]
Lighted Tiki Garden/Campsite Statue Decor
Sometimes, I think I need an entire storage shed for my ever-changing RV outdoor decorations. Tiki is one of my favorite non-holiday themes, and what I love about this one is that it’s large enough to make a statement, but small enough to transport on a short trip and stand alone. Just add a few leis, lights, and a Pina Colada. [Affiliate link.]
Blackstone Tabletop Griddle
This is the second item on the list that is making a reappearance from our 2019 list. We love that we can set it on top of the charcoal grill at the Fort. At home, my husband enjoys the jumbo stand-up version for poolside cookouts. [Affiliate link.]
Disney Outdoor Hidden Mickey Rug, Abstract Geometric
Check out a close up of this one to see the brilliant design. It says “Mickey” in a more elegant way than we sometimes see, and makes me think a bit of the Haunted Mansion. [Affiliate link.]
Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Outdoor and Explore Camper
For ages three and up, this is a cute way to start the love of Disney camping early. Mickey is a serious glamper with his boat, kitchenette, and of course – his dog. [Affiliate link]
gofindit – Outdoor Nature Scavenger Hunt Card Game for Families
This was one of the most popular items on our list last year. I’ve made a Fort Wilderness-specific scavenger hunt that you can download for free. But is impossibly cute. And giveable. And does the job of getting people outside. [Affiliate link.]
Yeti Trailhead Camping Chair
This is the camping chair of all camping chairs, large substantive and strong enough for Daniel Boone types. Your man will be the envy of the loop with his ultimate outdoor man cave. [Affiliate link.]
State Park Annual Pass
So this was one of my favorite gifts that I actually received last year. Of course, any state park pass is a thoughtful and perfect gift, but Georgia’s is particularly swell because of the camping discounts it provides. The $50 in Georgia is quite the bargain and pays for itself in a visit or two. [Friends of Georgia State Parks Pass.]
Weber Smoky Brown Sugar Rub
This was my favorite BBQ find of 2020. We’ve used it to make countless smoked briskets, chicken, and other stay-at-home meals this year. There is not another one, in my view, that comes close. I can’t even make it this good myself. Occasionally, I’ve found this in the big box stores, but it’s not easy. This one is the jumbo 30 oz. size. [Affiliate link.]
Mickey Totem Pole Pin (Wilderness Lodge)
Remember when there used to be a totem pole at the Fort Wilderness Outpost? This is a Wilderness Lodge pin, and I’m afraid I’d never want to trade this one. [Affiliate link.]
Strawberry Shortcake Candle
While Hoop Dee Doo is on a COVID hiatus, this candle still gives us the smell of Pioneer Hall and that famous Strawberry Shortcake. A perfect centerpiece for a fried chicken dinner with homemade Pioneer Hall Salad. [Affiliate link.]
Old-School Disney Camping Sing Along DVD
I credit my daughter’s 30-year love affair with Fort Wilderness partly to this back-in-the-day DVD. In addition to classics such as “The Bear Went Over the Mountain,” there’s lots of scences of Fort Wilderness from how we remember it best. [Affiliate link.]
